Highlights
It reads the math out loud
Every digit, operator and result is spoken as it is pressed, so early learners connect the written number with the word for it.
A keypad built for small hands
A 4x4 grid of large, high-contrast keys for +, -, x and ÷. Integer-only on purpose: no decimal point to trip over.
Math quiz in three levels
Easy is addition, Medium adds subtraction, Hard covers all four operations — multiple choice, with spoken feedback on every answer.
Rounds of 5, 10 or 20
A short round fits a car ride, a long one fits homework. Each round ends on a results screen.
Best scores that stick
Every difficulty and round length keeps its own best score on the device, so kids compete against themselves.
Mute it in one tap
A sound toggle turns the voice off for a classroom or a bedtime session, and nothing else changes.
About
Kids Calculator is a calculator that talks. A child presses 7, and it says "seven"; presses ×, and it says "times"; presses equals, and it reads the answer back. That is the whole idea — for a kid who can recognise a digit on screen but has not yet fastened it to the spoken word, hearing both together is the part that does the teaching. The keypad is sized for a small hand and deliberately kept to whole numbers, with the four operations and nothing else on it.
The second tab is a quiz. Easy asks addition only, Medium mixes in subtraction, and Hard draws on all four operations; each round is 5, 10 or 20 multiple-choice questions and closes on a results screen. Best scores are stored per difficulty and per round length, on the device, so there is always a record to beat without anyone else to lose to.
It needs no account and no connection — everything runs on the phone, and there is nothing to sign up for or buy. The app is free and ad-supported. Built with React Native and shipped on both the App Store and Google Play.
